Anticipation for Revelation (or Visualization of Worship Revisited)

Img_0169Really looking forward to CF's Revelation: Know what the future holds series starting this wknd. CFPB worship center is getting a whole new look, as we try to imaginatively envision a visualization of worship representative of the Holiness of God. Nothing like setting your sights high, so to speak...

I'm pumped for a phenomenal worship experience. God, thank you for being worthy of our worship! All this work would be so empty if it were not purposed for Your glory.

There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. - Revelation 22:5

So, you ask, what is the picture on the left? Come to CFPB this wknd and find out, or check out how our other campuses continue to raise the bar in creating a worship environment.

Invite people to the series. God has certainly been blessing our prep time, and I can't wait to see what He does this wknd.

(Side note: Thanks to Stephen Farr, Andy (don't call me Andrew) Flores, Chris Beckford, and Luke Isaacs for putting a ton of work into redesigning the CFPB worship center.)

What to do when the lights go out...

During the 9am worship service this past week, CFPB Worship Center went dark. No, we didn't forget to pay the power bill.

Funny thing about our Palmetto Bay Campus. The entire campus is on the same electrical grid...except for our worship center (which is on a separate grid). This was painfully obvious a couple years ago when we held church in our worship center (which had no power/AC) but the rest of our campus was fine...

But I digress. No power, in the middle of the teaching portion of the service. Shouldn't be a problem for the Worship and Media staff to overcome, right?

Where was I? 5 minutes before the outage, I got a call from CFH. Emergency that I needed to go resolve. I was getting on the Turnpike heading south.

Where was Hector? Hector was editing videos in his office, which didn't lose power because the worship center is on another grid than the main offices.

Where was Sammy? Teaching CFPB's 101 Connection Class over at Perrine Elementary (which also didn't have any power issues).

Who was in charge of the control room? Rookie Director Eddy P, who hasn't even been directing a month.

Everything went back online smoothly. Everyone working the service tells me Eddy did great getting the technology back online. Funny, I didn't think he knew how to do the stuff he did, but I guess he knew somehow...

Every week CF Volunteers contribute to services in a MAJOR way. It's just rare when it's THIS MAJOR!

Thanks, Eddy, for saving the day!

Sunday Shout-Outs, First Edition

Starting a new category here on the blog... Shout-Outs... give me a chance to gush about volunteers/staff who do things out of the ordinary... There is a lot to be excited about this week.

What started out being a potentially horrible wknd ended up being one of the strongest weekends we've had in months...

1) Thanks to Priscilla F, for catching early on that the projector wasn't working @ CFWK.
2) Thanks to Scarlet H, for fixing a ProPresenter glitch @ CFR's Macbook Pro.
3) Thanks to Oscar R, for burning the midnight oil to prepare for CFH (despite "missing" computers).
4) Thanks to Charlie B, for fixing a dismantled MacPro @ CFPB's Studio this AM.
5) Thanks to Eddie P, for being all over the place @ CFPB this wknd.
5) Thanks to Tony T, Brittany S, and Warren C for learning new techniques for VJ and Lighting.
6) Thanks to Bruce O, and Phillip S for learning how to run a new camera position
7) Thanks to Jay S, Basil L, Ariel R, Molly M, and Gabby K for "double dipping"... (serving in more than one service this week to cover for the many people on vacation)

This was a great wknd at Christ Fellowship! Thank you, volunteers (those mentioned above and the many, many that were not), for raising the bar and caring enough about the quality of our sacrifice to go above "normal" expectations.

I am excited at CF because our members, our volunteers are excited. Their passion for excellence is what drives me to do better.
