I used to be a gamer... okay, maybe not hardcore - but I could hold my own.
I loved Super Mario Bros when I was a kid. I remember playing like it was yesterday. I could do the entire thing... all 8 levels... no warps... straight thru! I was so proud... I can save the Princess! Nothing can stop me.
Except for that first stupid easy goomba that you come across while playing the game. Never fails. I'd get moving so fast that I'd end up pushing "A" (Jump) button too late, and slam nose first into the deadly goomba. Don't know why I struggled with that first step. Once I got going, I would be fine. I just never had the focus I needed to, I guess.
Of course, after I'd slam into the goomba, I'd get up off the couch and hit the "Reset" button on the NES. Couldn't start my quest to save the Princess with only two lives.
