As part of our Late, Late, Late Spring Cleaning, Amy reorganized our DVD collection. Found some straggler VHS tapes still in the collection. Is it worth upgrading these films to DVD? Keep the VHS? Or just trash the movie outright!
-----
On The Waterfront - Famous for Marlon Brando's quote: "I coulda been a contender!" I say worth it just for that...
George Lucas in Love - Short film spoofing Shakespear in Love with, well, George Lucas.
Vertigo - I love Hitchcock. No, not Hancock... One of Alfred's finer films..
JFK - Zapruder film... Back and to the left. Back and to the left. Back and to the left. If you've seen Oliver Stone's film, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
Independence Day - How many times can you see Will Smith save the world? I mean really? I heard they were considering renaming July 3rd "Will Smith Day", therefore mandating that he comes out with a new film for the 4th wknd.
Jurassic Park - I just saw this movie on vacation (Thank you AMC!) Yeah, I forgot how much I liked it. No not kidding. Forget the sequels. Stick with the original.
Batman Returns - Yeah, I love penguins, but not that kind. Story wasn't bad, but it was far from good. Note: Just like Hollywood ignored Ang Lee's Hulk, I ignore Val Kilmer and George Clooney as Batman. Do I really need to validate this?

Jurassic Park is a timeless movie. I didn't see it until I was in 1st grade and it was AWESOME. And I just ran through the movie in my mind. It was still AWESOME. You should buy it on Laser Disc and frame it in your house.

I kept my copy of "George Lucas in Love" on VHS, but definitely "Jurassic Park" is so much better digital!
Just a thought... I miss the days when we went to Sundance to catch movies on the weekends. We're old! I miss movies on the weekends, and movies in classes, and movies as homework!
